Adding Rotation to your workout - Online NOW! at Fusion Pilates with Nikki Chrysostomou

During this workshop we will be adding rotation of the shoulders, spine & hips to 22 Pilates exercises using the Trapeze Table, Spine Corrector, Reformer, Ladder Barrel, Chair & Mat. Each exercise will be demonstrated and taught accompanied with the do’s and don’ts along with its purpose and teaching points.

Rotation is a basic movement that occurs in the transverse plane as you turn around on a longitudinal axis. Adding rotation to your workout will increase mobility and strength through the joints, better functional movement, increased performance in sports, decrease in tension and an increase in feeling centred and energised.

This workshop is suitable for any instructor who is looking for new ideas and inspiration and is interested in exploring ways of taking Pilates exercises and becoming creative in adding props / toys to help challenge their client deeper.

Posture Assessment & Screening - Sunday 21st January 2018

Analysing posture either for your general city client or for your sports specific semi pro / pro client can be challenging in many ways. What creates our posture can come down to a lot of things diet, exercise, work, love, luck and our attitude to our bodies and life. Is it fair to categorize a complete stranger on meeting them for the first time to tick the boxes and then say at the end of it "Your...."?

Why is their body reacting the way it does? Why does it favor one side? What is making it pull in that direction? Where is the imbalance coming from?

During this 6 hour workshop you will

  • Examine and become aware of your own posture
  • Discuss how did we get to adopt our given posture?
  • Discuss causes for posture and the client standing in front of us
  • Look and recognise twists, turns and imbalances
  • Assessment exercises
  • Taking the whole picture into consideration

Understanding your client from a movement prospective is only a step in the right direction for successful sessions.
